At ENMU we know that having opportunities to be active is essential to your health and success as a student, staff or faculty. To cater to your diverse interests we provide a fitness facility, swimming facility, climbing wall and boxing area. For those looking for competitive opportunities we facilitate intramurals.
Wallace Maxwell Physical Activity Center
Commonly referred to as the MaxPAC, the Maxwell Physical Activity Center opened in 1998 when the Director of Intramurals and Recreation, Wallace Maxwell, made it a priority to establish one area for all students to achieve their personal fitness goals. The MaxPAC recently underwent a renovation and has a variety of equipment, including cardio equipment, free weights and machine weights. MaxPAC is open for 80 hours a week during the fall, spring and summer sessions, and 65 hours a week during the breaks between the semesters.

We provide intramural and recreational activities for students, faculty and staff members. Research shows that individuals who set skill based goals, rather than weight loss goals, are more likely to continue with a set exercise program. Working on your technique for intramurals is a perfect example of a skill-based goal. But, don't worry, while our intramurals are competitive, you don't need to be an expert to play. Most of our activities are offered in divisions based on skill and competitiveness, allowing you to find the right fit. Activities include flag football, indoor and outdoor volleyball, dodge ball, soccer, basketball, softball and glow-in-the-dark kickball. Playing on an intramural team is a great way to make new friends and have fun.
